I’ve pre-ordered the Touch Book from Always Innovating.
It looks like a pretty low end computer but there were a few things that caught my geeky side.
- 10-15 hour battery time
- Full tablet functionality with touch screen and removable keyboard
- Magnets to place it on the fridge
- Silent, no fans, no moving parts
- Low weight, 1 kg as my current laptop on 2,5 kg
- Low power, probably less heat
So with this one I might actually be able to read documents in silence without having to worry about the battery lifetime or where I left it(on the fridge).
The design with the system in the screen also reminds me of the design of the OLPC, that had the weight distribution centered on the screen opposite to what one is used to. On the other hand does this have extra battery in the keyboard and the fact that there seem to some extra space in the tablet part might indicate less weight.
But this is only speculation, well know more when the package arrives.
